Dan put together a birthday party for one of his good buddies at this very cool restaurant/bar/lounge that sits at the end of a marina jetty/breakwater. So it looks like it sits right on top of the water. You have a really cool view of everything: the city skyline; the gigantic bathtub toys floating in the marina; the sunset over the Persian Gulf; and the famous Burj Al Arab Hotel, standing seemingly on top of the ocean itself, a scant 200 meters distant. It really is an impressive, elegant building, even better up close in person than in any photograph. I'll attach photos soon. Anyway, attended by many very nice, very ambitious and hard-working but very altruistic people with a lot of interesting stories to tell, and nearly all work at the same company. A mild evening compared to the last one; but very enjoyable, probably the best to date.
Can't believe I'm off to Istanbul in a few hours!
